You get school kids doing drills, absolute units throwing weights around, and then someone like me, shuffling along with a coffee in one hand. It’s chaotic, but in the best way. The staff at the desk don’t even blink when you ask where the changing rooms are for the tenth time.
Membership is a thing, but you don’t need one to use the track. You can pay per session, which is perfect for commitment-phobes like me. And the prices? Honestly, they’re not bad. Cheaper than a London brunch, and you actually get to burn calories instead of just consuming them.

There’s also a gym attached to the centre. It’s full of shiny machines and people who look like they know what they’re doing. I just go there to use the treadmill with a view of the track below. It’s like people-watching, but with more sweat and less judgment.
Why Meridian Way is the perfect location
It’s right off the North Circular Road, so you can get there by car without too much hassle. Or take the Tube to Edmonton Green and walk fifteen minutes. That walk is actually a nice warm-up. Unless it’s July, in which case you’ll arrive looking like a melted ice pop.
There’s also parking—actual free parking. In London! I know, I couldn’t believe it either. It’s like finding a unicorn that also hands out free snacks. The car park isn’t huge, but I’ve never struggled to find a spot, even on busy Saturday mornings.
And if you don’t drive? The bus routes are solid. You’ve got the 102, 144, and the W8 all stopping nearby. Honestly, the journey is part of the adventure. You might even spot a fellow runner doing lunges at the bus stop. That’s when you know you’re close.
