Here’s my hot take: you don’t have to pick sides. Watch Adventures With Purpose for the big productions. Watch Chaos Divers for Doug’s down-to-earth, “we’re just guys with a sonar” approach. Both crews are still doing the real work—finding missing people, giving families answers, and occasionally pulling out a moldy mattress that someone lost in 1987.
And hey, Doug and the AWP team have even collaborated since his departure. It wasn’t a civil war. It was just two paths splitting in a yellow wood, or whatever Robert Frost said. They’re on different journeys now, but the mission is the same: get those cars out of the water.
So to answer your question: Is Doug Bishop still with AWP? Nope. But is he still diving, still solving cases, and still being the calm, slightly goofy hero we always liked? Absolutely. Pour another cup of coffee, pick your channel, and enjoy the show. The water is just as muddy on both sides.
